Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to browse, read and order from Psychedelic Foods, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast.

What we aim for

We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard most widely referenced for retail websites.

What we have done

• Every product photograph carries descriptive alternative text, so the content of an image is available to a screen reader.
• Text and background colors are checked for contrast against the WCAG AA thresholds, on the real rendered page rather than in theory.
• The site can be operated by keyboard alone, and every control shows a visible focus outline so you can see where you are.
• Buttons, links and other controls are sized and spaced to be usable on a phone without a precise tap.
• Headings, lists, landmarks and form labels use proper semantic markup.
• If you have asked your device to reduce motion, animations are turned off.
• Pages are tested at phone width as well as desktop.

Where we know we fall short

Some parts of the checkout and customer account are provided by Shopify and are not ours to change. A small number of decorative elements and third-party tools embedded in the site may not meet the same standard. We test regularly, but no site is ever finished, and automated testing does not catch everything.
